We enjoyed a short but spectacular drive today through the heart of the Lofoten archipelago, winding down the E10 towards Hamnoya where we will stay at the Eliassen Rorbuer for three nights. The many tiny fishing villages that surround this beautiful inlet epitomize the spirit of the islands. The Eliassen Rorbuer is a holiday resort with fishermen's cabins and is situated on the tiny island of Hamnoya in Western Lofoten, the Moskenes municipality. We have a lovely rorbuer with spectacular views. On our way we spent an interesting couple of hours in the Viking Museum at Borg. Believed to have been the home of one of the most powerful chieftains in northern Norway, this is the site of the largest known buildings from the Viking age.
