It was horrible day yesterday so I spent most of it reading my Australia book and making notes which was good. I should have done that at home but it's great I had time to do that yesterday. I marked down all the places I wanted to see and things I wanted to do. Once I had done that I realised how quickly these 5 months are going to go ahhhhhh! I read in my itinerary that my 3 day trip around Ayres Rock involves two 8km walks... Check me out with all my exercise. Only sloking 4 ciggys a day and I have stopped biting my nails. Well its been 2 days and it's going well so I really going to try and keep it up. I also did 5km on Alisha's exercise bike last night so hopefully I will be super fit by the time I come home at this rate. I think the alcohol might stop that though once I hit Cairns and travel down. I hear it's pretty lively and there are lots of backpacker party's which should be good fun. Very excited about the weeks ahead.
Woke up early today intending to go to the Aquarium but it was such a nice day Stephen took Jayne, Debra and I to see the Serpentine Dam, which was about 1 & 1/2 hours away. It is 50% full which is amazing considering Perth hardly gets any rainfall. Aparantly it has been the wettest Winter in 100 years - trust my luck hehe. I got some great snaps of the gorgeous views and the Dam was really impressive too. We went for a walk through the bush for 40 minutes too which was good. I put my hood up to protect myself from the spiders hehe. We then stopped and had lunch on a bench in the picnic area where we were surrounded by 20-30 beautifully coloured parrots. They were so friendly, almost too friendly. I was trying to eat a piece of cake and one of them nearly took it out of my mouth hehe. Then I saw a blue wren which are extremely rare so I am glad I managed to get a couple of pics. When we got back Alisha and I spent time planning our trip to Rottnest Island on Saturday. Doesn't sound like the nicest of placed but a must see when you come to Perth. The locals rave about it because of the Dolphin and Whale watching yaya! The weather is meant to be really nice so hopefully we will have a good day. Right off for dinner now so I will check in again tomorrow. Fingers crossed I will make it to the Aquarium either tomorrow or Friday.
