Got the Greyhound on Wednesday morning from Mission Beach. We watched the latest Batman film on the bus which was awesome and then I had a little sleep. Arrived in Townsville at 1pm on Wednesday afternoon with Jane. We caught the ferry across to Magnetic Island and headed to our accomodation, Bungalow Bay, situated in the heart of the rainforest. It was beautiful. That afternoon we met up with Nikki, Mel and Hayley who we had previously met in Cairns and went for a 4km walk around the islands fort to watch the sunset - amazng! After this we all went to Base (another hostel) for drinks and a boogie. The next day Jane, Christian (German), Ann (Austrian) (people we had met at the hostel) and I hired a Hello Kitty car/moke and drove around the island. It was fantastic and it was great to be driving again. We went to all the beaches on the island and then went to the Koala sanctuary in the afternoon where I held a Koala, a croc and a snake ahhh. I loved it though and got some great snaps. In the evening we played coconut bowling and lost lol oppps. Yesterday we got the greyhound to Airlie Beach and headed to our accomodation - Magnums. Jane and I got our own room because it was cheaper and it was so nice to sort out all our washing and re pack our bags. Last night we went on a bar crawl and met up with Nikki, Mel and Hayley again. Ended up meeting some really great people. When we got back to our hostel there was a Kane Toad in the toilet (It was about the size of a football hehe). It was very funny though especially as I nearly sat on it without realising lol. Off to the WhitSundays this afternoon so excited. Will let you know about it when I get back on Monday. Really like Airlie Beach. Think we might stay here for a couple more nights when we get back.
