Finally got an opportunity to update - been so busy over the last few days.
Mendoza was great, went horseriding in the Andes all day and rode to a really cool restaurant for a fantastic lunch. Then i went with some people from the hostel to a barbeque/buffet place sooo much food, I just stuck to the steak and the black pudding it was great.
Yesterday a group of us got the local bus about 40 mins outside of town and then went to a really cool bike rental place and hired bikes and then cycled to loads of local vineyards for tastings, also on the way was a chocolate and liquer place which was great. It was so much better than paying for an actual tour on a minibus, as the whole thing only cost us about 10 quid each instead of 50. Also when we got back to the bike rental day after cycling in the sun all day the owner kept plying our group of 6 with wine, so pretty tipsy when we got the bus home.
There were some Brazilians staying in the hostel and they went out and bought loads of meat so we bought salads and beer/wine and then had a massive bbq (even though we had to sit in our coats) it was a really great night except i had to catch a bus to Santiago Chile this morning at 7:30. It was so weird you go right through the mountains and then stop in the middle t border control and have to get out and be inspected by sniffer dogs and do all the passport stamping.
Only been in Santiago for a few hours, it's not as nice as BA and it is much colder, there is a permanent haze around the city, i'm going to climb the big hill in the middle of the city tomo and see how the view is. Also gone into another time zone so it's 5 hours behind the UK here. Having a quiet restful evening probably watch a bit of telly and read my book for an early night as so tired from the last few days (and the hangover) . Hostel is nice in Santiago a big living room area so pretty cosy.
Hope everything is going well.
Love Gem xxx
