Ok so 3rd day in Argentina - Yesterday in Ba was a lazy(ish) day met How & Joe for a long lunch and wander round Puerto Madryn.
I´m now in Mendoza, I was on a bus for 13 hours last night, it was so comfy the seat is like on the fancy planes it is a bed - totally reclines the full 180 to be flat and got a meal (not very good but better than Iberia) with wine and then settled down for a sleep, there was breakfast but i decided to carry on sleeping (somethings don´t change even 6000 miles across the Atlantic.
Hostel is fine, showers a bit grubby and poor water pressure but relatively warm water so alright.
So far today been and got my bearings and had lunch with a couple of people out in the main plaza, an american lad and an irish lad same age as me we´re all in the same room too, so decided to head out and have some me time this afternoon, so thought i´d catch up on my emails and general taking in of sights.
Weather is great, sunshine, temperature must be about 15 which is great meant we´ve sat outside for lunch albeit with our coats on.
There´s a choice of stuff over the next few days, horse-riding, trekking, wine tasting and skiing, just have to decide when i want top do what - don´t think i´m going to go skiing apparently resort really small (5-8 runs) and then you´ve got to hire all the stuff separately, i´d rather go horse riding and to the vineyards, so I think i´m going horse riding tomorrow and then wine tasting the day after - it´s quite good the activities are organised for you but there local and so there´s different travellers from different groups, so don´t know if anyone from my tour (there´s 6 of us, but people drop off and then rejoin when they want so might go down, depending) is up for horse riding but i doesn´t mean i can´t go - they all want to go skiing, and then I know the two lads i had lunch with are going to do the wine tour on thurs with me - so means i´ve got company if i want it or not. Definitely don´t want to do everything as a group so suits me fine. Then the friday is a free day in Mendoza, then off to Chile on Sat, 6 hour drive throught the Andes suppose to be great scenery - I haven´t taken any photos yet but i will so they will be up shortly.
Mendoza is tiny in comparison to BA just a big town really and very few building over 4 storeys high, which is pretty nice as it means big leafy avenues and there are plenty of pretty little squares. So different to BA but nice.
Right going off to wander again and maybe have a drink in the sun.
more soon.....
Love Gem xx
