Hi Guys
Thought I would give you a quick update before the weekend. I have had a fantastic week - cannot believe my first month is over!
So on Sunday the girls and I had a picnic in the park as everything was closed due to the voting. Was a really nice day and again I ate too much!
Monday I went to my placement at Hecho en Buenos Aires, like the big issue back home - I did an activity with everyone that went down really well. Then it was off to the Jewish school where I did my Sheffield presintation. It went down very well and they liked the part about my friends and family - to be honest I did use quite good pictures so don't be too shocked!
Tuesday was a great day - I got all my little errands done, I went to the bank, did my laundary and got my hair cut....... you should of seen my face when I cam out of the hairdressers! The sides have been scalped more or less unevenly and the top is very long. As they say here no importa (Doesn't matter!) - all the kids have noticed and said it was quite cool so that made me feel better! Then I walked to the Museo Nacional del Diseño - which is a big posh old colonial style house which was really cool and impressive. After that I walked to the Museo Nacional del Buenas Artes. The gallery is amazing! I got lost inside and it was a great mixture of modern and traditional art. I saw a monet and a picasso just to name a few others! Must say that again my mother and my auntie's would love it! The walk took me a good 45 minutes, so I got the bus back to the supermarket near the hostel and did my shopping. Got sorted, picked up my lanudary and then proceded to go out for a travellers dinner all paid for and all you can eat! NOT GOOD!!!
Wednesday I was at my favorite School Jacaranda and had a great day and then went to the childrens home in the evening. After that I went to see Pirates of the Carribean 3. What a film, although I did fall alseep for 10 minutes!
Thursday I was teaching at Beth and went out for tea to Mirandas as it was Becki and Jen's last proper meal! Then came back to the hostel and then went clubbing with the lads. My Spanish is great now - the lads are from Argentina, Mexico, Nicaragua and Ireland - what a mix! Got home at 7am and was up to go teaching at 11.30am. Had another great day at Jacaranda... and I have a date - with an Argentinian classroom assistant (who has a boyfriend) and her friends, so hopefully I can be hooked up!
We were ment to be going to Montevideo this weekend but the weather is that foggy no boats or planes are going out. Instead we are going to Tigre tomorrow which is a traditional village 1 hour away from BA, and then I have my date!
Not sure about Sunday, but Monday we are going to a Tango show. Then on Thursday I am going to Rio - just looked at the weather 29 degrees! Cannot wait!
Hope that's a good mix of culture and clubbing for you momma!
Hope all is well and am really loving it here - I will not want to come home! Luckily I have another 2 months left. I am thinking about going to live with a host family in my last month to strenghten my Spanish before I go.
Hope everything is O.K with everyone - am loving all you messages, it's great to know what's going on!
Anyways adios for now
