We got up early this morning and checked out of our guesthouse and headed for the pier. We got on the ferry heading for Koh Phangan and enjoyed watching Tom and Jerry kids on the way. We knew we wanted to stay in the party area on Haad Rin beach but hadn't decided on the accommodation yet. So the second we got of the ferry someone came up to us and gave us a flyer for a place called Coral Bungalows, it was in the right location so we started considering it. Then she told us we got a free lunch if we checked in there so we were sold. She told us to walk 5 minutes off the pier to get a cheaper taxi. As we were getting closer we saw lots of signs for Coral Bungalows advertising a pool party, sweet. We arrived at the bungalows 15 minutes later and had a closer look at the posters which said pool party 30th September, couldn't believer we missed it by 1 day.

We got shown the room that was good, had toilet paper, a flushable toilet and a shower which you didn't have to hold. We took it got freshened up then went to the pool restaurant for our free lunch. The bungalows were a great location with a pool right on the sea front. After lunch we headed to the main Haad Rin beach which was only a 10 minute walk away and lazed around on the beach for a while. We then explored the town for a while before heading back to coral bungalows to laze some more by the pool. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant around 9 ish while watching the footy and were told that the parties on the beach didn't kick off till around midnight, success that's a bit better then 10pm closing time.

We popped back to the room for the loo and just had a quick lie down and…oops we both fell asleep! We woke a while later in a daze and tried to wake ourselves up and then headed out around 11ish. The beach was already a bit busy with fire dancer shows going on which was pretty cool. There were loads of make shift bars scattered along the beach all offering cocktail buckets for around the same price, so we picked the one which you got a free hug with and started enjoying a mohito while watching the fire dancers. We then saw what looked like a gigantic skipping rope on fire at a bar further down the beach s we headed down there to investigate, and sure enough the fire dancers were skipping. We met another English couple and got chatting, they had been down in Malasia so we got some tips and they were heading up towards Cambodia and Vietnam so we gave them some advice.

They then brought out a basketball net, we had a few goes and finally I got one in and got a free vodka and coke. They then bought out a board with balloons on and darts and after a couple of goes I managed to win a few more Vodka Redbulls and Rachel got a free beer. Then they brought out a board with holes in and a football, you get it through the hole you get a free drink, football was never my strong point so we will quickly move on. They then brought out poles and hoops and I managed to get a few over and got some more vodka redbulls. After a few hours we realised we were getting quite merry and hadn't spent any money in that bar, that must go down as the best bar in the world. We finally splashed out £7 on a Vodka redbull bucket and a strawberry and grape Shisha, Rachel assured me that apparently it was good for us, but I wasn't that sure, it tasted pretty funky. After enjoying those and a few more games the other couple headed off as the guy was starting to sway heavily. We decided to stay and enjoy some more drinks while dancing on the tables.

We then decided to sit on the beach watching the sea and managed to see many man made waterfalls along the sea front. Rachel then decided to go find a bar toilet to make her own waterfall. I then heard a voice coming from the DJ at the bar behind me, asking for someone's name, the reply came Rachel, then where are you from, the reply came Coventry. What a coincidence I thought, then asked who are you with, the reply came; Graeme Kelly he's down on the beach, wow that's amazing I thought what are the chances of that. They started chanting my name and I finally stood up and gave a quick wave before sitting back down and relaxing again, after all it had been a busy day lol.

A few minutes more passed then some girl came over and asked if I minded if she sat with me, good to know I've still got it, ;-). I said that was no problem at all I was just waiting for me girlfriend to come back and she quickly vanished. Rachel then came back and we relaxed and drank some more till finally deciding to head back. We stopped at 7-11 for a couple of ham and cheese toasties and water. Rachel waited outside while I went in and after a couple of minute a guy had come over to her and started chatting her up, good to know we both still have it, ;-). She explained that she was waiting for me to bring her a toastie and he then came inside and asked me what a toastie was, poor guy never experiencing the fantastic taste of a toastie, I pointed them out to him and he looked pretty chuffed. We then headed back to the bungalow and crawled into bed just after 6 am, that's a bit better then 10pm.
