We went to Jenner on Sunday evening to a fabulous restaurant to celebrate Guy's birthday. We sat high up overlooking the mouth of the Russian River. I took loads of photo's of the sunset which was quite spectacular. The food was excellent as was the wine Guy brought with us. In fact when we returned home we continued drinking excellent Californian wine - rather too much of it which made the following day a bit grey!! The weather has warmed up again although it is surprisingly cold at night. However Peter and Guy spent time on Saturday chopping kindling for the wood stoves. Occidental houses are all built of wood and painted in all sorts of different colours. Guy has two one bedroomed homes one of which he rents out, we are staying in his rental house that is between tenants fortunately for us all. Guy & Donna have spent the last two months working like slaves with the help of their friend Rick renovating the house that the previous tenant's large German Shepherds had messed up quite considerably. They have new tenants coming in October with NO dogs!!
Peter comments- on Sunday morning certain people were feeling a little grey! After breakfast Rick arrived so we strolled down to the Union Hotel for a hair of the tiger and met Clay a friend of Guy's. A lazy afternoon followed with homemade hamburgers for dinner - these are just too big to get into your mouth so you end up nibbling around the edges. As Guy leaves for work just after 4.00am, We all turned in for an early night.
Off to Arizona today so more later. Happy Birthday Sacha!
