Day two and after a visit to the glee market got fresh supplies we head off to Centre Paris we are booked on hop on hop off open air bus and we are off to see all the touristy things of Paris.
We start of course at the Eiffel Tower and head off to see the Champs de Mars, Opera Garnier, Louvre, Notre-Dame, Musee d'Orsay, Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Grand Palais and Trocadero.
Unbelievable the age of these buildings and the city in general. Lots of tourist but it is summer in Europe.
We do the whole loop approx 2 hours and now but at the Eiffel Tower we have lunch and queue again for Seine River Cruise. Much the same as the bus but this time from the water.
Once finish we decide to head to Notre-Dame to go inside. Jump on the hop on bus again we can use our ticket all day. Queue again (better get use of queuing for when we get to Rome) this place dates back to year 1106 just can't believe something is that old.
By now we are starting to waver, you loose track of time as the sun doesn't set until after 9.30pm. We are back on the bus and heading up the Champs-Élysées. This is where Eliza would love to shop Cartier, Mac, etc. Get to the Arc de Triomphe at the top if the Champs-Élysées and get off to explore this amazing place but decide against walking the 360 stairs to the middle section, view would be amazing but the feet and body don't agree.
Time to head home sightseeing today is over for us. The bus driver tells us he is only going two stops and the bus is 'finished' no more today but we want to go back to the Eiffel Tower finishedo, finishedo he tells everyone.
Nothing here runs to a timetable the buses come and go when they please generally after the bus driver hop offs and finished his cigarette (every one smokes in Europe so different to Australia).
Bus has finished for the day so we pile off the bus and head towards the Metro the line we need is being replaced by buses at present so we find the number 6 it is waiting hop on and wait 10 mins while the bus drivers smoke and chat. Another bus turns up and we are all
told to change bus aghhhhh. By this time Brian is over it and tells the bus driver he is not happy (I don't think he understood as he just smiled). Finally back at the Metro and on the line back to our accommodation.
Thank goodness Brian took the lead of transport he has worked out the buses and trains perfectly.
By this time it is going in 9.00pm and still light. We are exhausted back thankfully we went to the bolangerie before we left this morning so we have fresh baguettes, cheese and ham.
Stay up until 10.30pm to call home and check on the girls and then hit the wall!!
So ends day two in Pariee.
