4th - Left Sydney train station at 12pm adn arrived in Canberra just after 4pm so it was a nice short hassle free journey. We walked to the YHA hostel but they were full and the only other free (relatively cheap) hostel was out of town so we had to get a taxi about 3km out of town. hostel was clean but just in a weird location. We went and bought stuff for tea and then headed to a small irish pub in the evening, but it closed at 10pm. 5th - Up early this morning...

18th - Wooooo! so we finally made it to Australia. we managed to grab a train from the airport to Kings Cross which is where we had booked a hostel. We didnt arrive at the hostel until 9pm, by which point we were really hungry, we dumped our bags, went and had a meal and then on the way back into the hostel and speaking to T one of the guys who works there, we got chatting to a Scottish guy called Lewis who was from Stirling, then in walked a second Scottish guy ...

We arrived at tea time on the 16th december, grabbed some food and walked along all the main streets, but we were too tired so had an early night saving ourselves for the next day. 17th - we had breakfast at the hostel and then headed to clarke quay, we then walked along the river stopping for lunch at the fountain of wealth. After lunch we wandered around Raffles, a few larger shopping centres on Orchard Road and then ended up in the cinema watching Wild Child...

12th - Bus journey was only a few hours, and on arrival we found a hostel easily enough - we ended up in a 16bed dorm which sounds awful but it really was not that bad - it was all single beds as opposed to bunks so it was nice - everyone had their own space. we spent the afternoon wandering around getting our bearings, and in the evening went for a drink in the Geographer Cafe - we were so excited and luckily it happened to be a really nice bar. we were taking p...

So long since iv written on here but we have been busy having fun! So Sunday 7th we got the bus to kuala lumpur (KL) - we had booked a hostel in advance to try and get a cheap one - it was nice enough - staff were friendly which is always a good thing.
