It was now time to march indignantly down to the Ryanair desk and shout at someone, but someone had beaten us to it and Ryanair were one step ahead of us all. There was no one working at the desk. The bloke in front us had a problem, his ticket had been issued with the wrong name on it, so he hadnt been allowed to board his flight. When thebattle hardened lady from Ryanair showed up, he was told it was going to cost him £160 to change the ticket and get him on a flight to Ireland. He coughed up. There were no tv cameras to film us, so there was no point having a screaming fit. We just neededto get another flight to Tenerife. Our flight had departed at 6.05am.....after finally looking at our boarding pass....it had said it would leave at 6.25am....so we had been too late anyway. The nice lady on the desk found us two seats on a flight set to leave at 14.25pm......and we had to pay. Britain had a couple of goes at stealing Tenerife, but were never successful, which is a bit of a shame. Our very own Horatio Nelson had a go on the 25th of July 1797, he was dealt a googlie by the Spanish and a poor batting response resulted in him losing his right arm in this particular innings. The Brits tried again later on in September that year, but gave up after the locals dropped boulders on their ships from the high cliffs known as Los Gigantes. Bristol Airport is not the place to hang around for any amount of time but eventually we went to Gate 26 to board our Thompson flight to Tenerife. It was a Boeing 757 and it was packed. Why people put themselves through this ordeal for a week of sunshine is a puzzle to me. It was a bumpy landing and almost got a bit bumpy with the chap in front of me who got lippy with me . Personal space was at a premium on that plane and I.m surprised no one got murdered. But land we did....and waited forever for our bags...... we then eventually got on our bus, which was going to take us an hour and a half to get to Los Gigantes. It was also pouring with rain.

Ian Travelling : Such fun! Obviously the above terms create a ratio to which one can travel or have fun, usually only an uncomfortable balance may be had ... You now must be well into bar, beach and sun and have the elusive "such fun". Unfortunately this will end once the travel starts once again. Good luck :-) PS the smiley face is for us readers of your bloke, as its alway "such fun!"

Rhidian Morgan Your earlier mishaps are behind you now so you can both now relax and enjoy yourselves.
Big Steve Classic! IS it just me or are flights just worse these days?. In the last 10 flights I’ve done recently half have been subject to delays. The most recent was last Thursday running some 3hrs late. Unfortunately, their minor delay meant I didnt get home until 1:30 in the morning after a 4am start the previous day and had to pay another £25 quid for the short term carpark. SIGH
Mavis Gibbs Your wish will come true, I expect and you’ll be barred from travelling with that airline. Try to enjoy yourselves! love Ma XXXXX
