So thats it we have come to the end of a fantastic 7 weeks in Australia. We have decided to leave a week early as there is so much to do in New Zealand the extra week will give us chance to find our feet.
The last time we wrote we were in Byron Bay, we spent a really lovely 4 days there, it was great to get some down time. As andrew wrote we did have a big night out - Andrew had a bigger night then me, as he returned home at 6.30am after sleeping in a bush, outside the shops - oh and he had rolled in dog poo nice!!!!!!!!!!!! so the day was spent healing the head in the sun. From Byron we travelled along the coast stopping off at a few places, surfers paradise, port macquarie, seals rock and the pretty south west rocks. We arrived back in Sydney a few days early, which was fine as we got to spend some more time with emily and Rob. We have not done a great deal, mostly sun bathing as the weather has been amazing some days getting upto 35. Andrew has been out surfing, it was a very windy day, but he was out there for a good 2 hours. Thursday night (2nd) we met Natalie at her house at 1pm, we all went for lunch to Sydney Fish Market - this day it was 35. We all enjoyed Barrumundi, oysters, octopus and fresh prawns, all washed down with a few beers. We went back to Natalies about 5.30, and get ready for cocktails, that started and 6, made by Andrew, they were lovely, Emily and Rob came round for a few after work then we all headed down to Darling Harbour. We had a great night, but Andrew was suffering alot walking back the next day in the 32 degree heat - bless him.
Friday night we travelled to Canberra to stay at Robs mum and Dads house, it was lovely to see them all again. We had an early night, and Rob took us site seeing the following day. That evening 12 of us sat dawn for a wonderful family meal, we stayed up drinking red wine until 3am Rob went to bed at 6am - tut tut. It was a really lovely weekend. Sunday we spent lazing about enjoying the canberra sun, eating left overs and watching the Rugby league final, we arrive back into Sydney at about 11pm.
Well thats is all over now, thanks to Rob and Emily we have had a great time, and we really appreciate them having us to stay, but i am not to sad that i will be leaving them again, as they are coming to New Zealand for 3 days for my birthday - woo hoo. We cant wait, they have never been so it will be a great adventure for us all. Thanks to everyone who has written again. Happy 60th anniversary Grandma and Grandad, Happy birthday Aled x x x
