Headed to Little Italy searching for restrooms….story of my life, couldn't find a public toilet anywhere. Decide to find the best looking joint for coffee......so I can use their restroom.

Thankfully find a coffee shop with an actual coffee machine and a proper barista. Two amazing caramel lattes later we are in heaven. Went for a stroll through the gas lamp area of town which I can imagine would be buzzing on the weekend or in the evening. But we had to hit the road towards La La Land.

Visited La Jolla beach on our way out of San Diego and had a look in some local art galleries, which had some really neat pieces. Ordered a takeaway pizza to enjoy while watching the sunset on the beach. Very cute little area.

Learnt that you're not meant to feed the Squirrels....poor Squirrels. Interesting that Squirrels all over America have varied, the ones in this area look more like giant rats. Sam thinks I have an obsession with taking pictures of Squirrels......maybe it's how I can make my millions? Become a Squirrel whisperer.

Continue the drive along the coast towards LA but decide to find somewhere to crash the night as we are missing the views in the dark. All the campgrounds are closed and there's nowhere to park. We stumble on a cute little Motel in Carlsbad with rooms for $60 a night, winning.
