After a leisurely start to the morning, we hit the road again and headed to Cameron Corner which is the border of 3 states; NSW, SA and QLD. Along the way we stopped at a dry lake bed where each of the kids had a go at driving - great fun!
Stopped for a look at Fort Grey and Lake Pinaroo which now has water in for the first time in thirty years. Looked at the old homestead ruins which had to be moved as it was flooded out in 1956.
Arrived at the Corner in time for lunch and a bevie! Amazing experience to stand in three states at once. It was also interesting to see the Dog fence which was originally the Rabbit Proof Fence. Zac funnily enough just watched the movie at school last week so he was very intrigued by it.
We also saw a plane land with some tourist and it taxied right up to the front door of the Corner Store/Pub!
The roads have been good to terrible. Lots of soft red dirt dunes made for difficult driving. Craig has decided we will need to sell both the car and camper on our return as they will have been shaken to bits :)
Finally hit the Strzelecki Track around 5pm! Woo hoo!
Camped the night on a sandy river bank, unfortunately it was dry but such a lovely spot. Another campfire with damper and glow sticks for the kids.
Stars were absolutely amazing!
