Left Ihla Grande at 10am and arrived back at book hostel at 1pm, in reception I met 3 sisters, Madaline, Adele and Evie, travelling from Australia. We all went and visited Lapa steps and wandered around to get a feel for the area. I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around alone and definitely not at night!
We got into the happy hour spirit and joined the majority of the hostel for a night out in Lapa. Which ended with us joining in with the Brazilian culture and experience a street party. You have to watch your pockets, because some one had their purse stollen within a matter of minutes! But I made sure I only had the minimum amount of money and for girls it's safer to keep it in your bra!!
The next couple of days were spent exploring Rio; the Hippie fair and the beach in Cocacabana and Ipanema, I found it slightly odd that you have to sit in the right section on the beach because each section is for a different type of person. We found the tourist beach that was packed - nothing compared to Ihla Grande!
The best part of the day was visiting Sugar Loaf Mountain, where we had a fabulous view over the whole city and we just made it to the top to catch the sunset!
That night Mel and Dani who I met in Bienos Aries were joining me at the hostel so we had a quiet night to catch up!
