Spooning all night long!!

So we are finally in chang mai after having come the whole way from samui, which required quote possibely the most grim part of the adventure yet! So after a minibus, coach, ferry, coach, tuk tuk and another coach we arrived in Bangkok at grim o'clock. We then made our way to chang mai by train a few hours later.

After our encounter with the delightful Shannon ( I cannot remember if I filled you in on her) I decided to spoon gelert all night in order to prevent him from being harrassed. Now kiddies don't get your knickers in a twist as gelert is not some hot aussie boy but rather my trusty back pack who I guard with my life!!

We arrived in chang mai and went to do a cookery course which was grilliant fun as we learnt to make curry paste which gave te arms a much needed work out and pad Thai which although my version didn't look nearly a good as the ones on khao san road it was very tastey!

Today we went on an elephant trek which involved riding an elephant for and hour where ours was clearly the problem child elephant and so decided to take a different route to the others every time and at one point had to climg over logs about a metre high, I'm pretty sure we almost fell off and would have died but the guide who was just casualy sittig on mr ellies head just laughed at us and yelled oh my god in a very high pithced voice!
We then went to a waterfall but couldn't swim as the water was too high from the recent rain and so we trekked onto the rafting where we got very wet bumbs and so were made to sit on plastic bags for the whole trip home, kind of like at the beach when yu are young and on the car on the way home you have to sit on your towle! We made some friends on the way, two Canadian girls who are staying in our hotel and a guy who turns out I met in good old val de lobo about 3 years ago only realised this when I got back to the hotel! Small world sometimes.

We are heading back to bangkok tomorrow where we will then fly to Vietnam so until then!!
