Well everything they say about Daly Waters was true! We had a great time and enjoyed the free show while we had the famous Beef N Barra meal. The pub is only a short drive in from the Sturt Highway but a world of it's own with all manner of collections from bras, footy shirts, nametags to thongs.

Tennant Creek (an old gold town) had some interesting sights that were only a short drive from the town. The information centre had a novel display called Freedom Fortitude and Flies with the focus from women and children of the times. We stayed close to town so were able to ride around. We met a couple who talked us into catching the courtesy bus to the Memorial Club and join them at the Memo Restaurant for a feed of Barra and a few laughs over drinks before ...

Tennant Creek was an old Gold town. We were parked close enough to town to ride our bikes. The information centre was just out of town and had a great museum with a focus by the women and children. There were a few short drives out of town to see the telegraph station and The Pebbles. We ended up at the Memorial Club at the Memo restaurant for a great feed of barra and a few drinks with them before catching the curtesy bus home.

Had a good run along the Barkly Highway and arrived over the border. The van park was huge with lots of vans pulling up out the front during the day as it was the first and last stop for fuel food etc. We had a lovely shady spot and had dinner at the bar and met some orange farmers from Leeton. The entertainer gave us some great singalongs from the 70-80's and after a few drinks us (and a few others) got up and danced.

We decided to stay off road along the Georgina River which as it was drying out became billabongs. Our spot was very picturesque with pelicans and other birdlife. We saw a wild cat about the size of a dog on the opposite bank and the banks had been dug up by wild pigs after the mussels (we didn't see any while we were there). We set up then walked along the creek to town for a coffee at the pub and came back along the old road.
