Took the 7 hour bus into Vietnam (Saigon) for $3.5-shows just how cheap travel is in Asia, with 'Happy Tour' When we got to their office it was clear where they came up with the name-they were so friendly they must have been on something! At night we explored the local market and tried out the local specialities-the beer went down nicely but the beef noodle soup is rank!something about noodle soop just knocks me sicK!Saigon is much alike to the other cities (Bangkok,Phnom Penh etc) but the traffic is even crazier!To cross the street you have to play chicken with about 50 motorbikes, and the few traffic lights they do have mean absolutely nothing!If you see a gap you go for it!

JANUARY 13TH 2007

Today was mint!!!!!Went on a half day trip to the Cuchi tunnels used by the Viet Cong with a guide called Tom. Worked for Happy tour so not surprisingly you couldnt shut him up!-Even told us about his ex girlfriend and getting caught by her dad with her prettier younger sister.For the life of me I cant work out why they split up. He showed us the traps used by them against the US GIs (all of which were lethal and very clever) and their system of underground tunnels. We only crawled 15m in one (which had been widened for tourists) and that was bad enough.You can't imagine what they went through living underground for all those years. To cap it off we got to shoot an AK47 at the shooting range (still waiting for my earss to recover). Yep thats right I did say WE!Photo evidence to follow!

Got dropped of at the War museum on the way back.After which I can see why The Americans arent everyones favouries in Vietnam!

And yet the day manged to get even better-One of the bars has a cinema in it and it was showing the most awaited film of the year.......Rocky Balboa(6)!!!!!!!!!Hopefully United can cap it off by battering Villa...Kick off in 20mins..till next time
