Spent the dy on the beach sunning ourselves which was a welcome change after Phnom Penh & Siagon

WEDNESDAY 17TH JANUARY 2007

Chilled on the beach in the morning then hired a jeep in the afternoon to explore Mui ne. Went to the fairy stream first which was a beautiful natural landscape with smallish limestone mountains covered in red sand with a sand-bed river flowing alongside.Walked alongside the river to the rice paddies & the waterfalls. Really was a beautiful place. After this we drove to the harbour where the fishing village was docked - was v.picturesque. Moved onto Mui ne's canyon which had lovely views of the sea from the top. Then went to the white sand dunes . It was really windy there and the sand blowing hurt a bit. We went sand sledging down the sides of the dunes here but it was a bit of a letdown - not as fun as it looks and sounds.I in particular was lame at it & couldn't get much speed up like Gaz (perhaps cause of my reduced weight ;) We then watched the sunset at the red sand-dunes. Wasn't amazing 'cause the dune heights obscurred the setting sun but a nice atmosphere all the same. Most travellers skip mui ne out and head staight to nha trang but im glad we stopped off. was well worth it even if the accomodation is more pricy & there's less to do of an evening. Head now for Nha Trang!
