Yesterday we spent a very pleasant penultimate day in and around waikiki. We had lunch right on the beach at the Royal Hawaiian. A timeless sundrehched dreamy scene watching beginners falling off their long boards. Yesterday we spent our first full day in waikik with a solid day at the outlet mall and , a swim in the pool and then a very lovely evening with room service dinner on our balcony watching the sunset over Waikiki.

Today we had a great tour out to the volcano. The tour moved at a relaxed pace with a stop at a coffee plantation along the way. We also stopped for a walk along a lovely black sand beach where Ket was excited to see more green sea turtles. We then travelled on into yhe national park where we stopped to walk through a lava tube. I will be interested to compare my photo taken in the same place in 1986. Today was a lazy day around the hotel with the highlight being dinner at a beautiful waterfront restaurant called Huggo's on the water at Kona. We were given the best table right on the waters edge and the service was genuinely warm and friendly. One of up the special dinners of our tour.
