Amsterdam has been great so far. We started off with an orientation by city tour to get our bearings.
On our first evening we decided to try the Indonesian restaraunt and have the traditional Rice Table. We enjoyed the restaraunt and the linkages to the colonial past.
We moved on to the Heinikin bar and after some people watching we went back to a Salsa club we had spotted earlier and enjoyed the atmosphere and dusted off our lessons for a 2 AM return to the hotel. Yesterday we had a slower start and walked over to the Jordan area to see the farmers market. We were caught out by a rain storm and luckily took refuge in the loft of a cafe in a sixteenth century building eating meatball sandwiches and coffee looking out the window. A really great experience.
Last night we took a tour of the red light area which was very interesting and very much a vibrant part of the city with restaraunts and bars as well as lots of young guys doing window shopping.
We had dinner at nearly midnight at an Argentinian restaraunt.
