I have finally made it to the beaches off the east coast of mainland Thailand, the Island of Koh Tao.! Arrived on the island about 10, after the boat seemed to just wait for about 30 minutes off shore. Not sure if there was a problem, or if it was something to do with a busy port.!? One thing I know for sure is that a boat can't derail, and I wasn't in the sea, so it hadn't capsized!!
Jumped in a free transfer, it took about 5 minutes just down the beach to the Big Blue diving school, chilled out in the bar for most of the day and had lunch, as didn't start training until 5pm. Had a stroll down the beach, put a muscle tee on, and enjoyed the sunshine and the cool breeze of the sea! The water felt like bath water... Like a complete idiot, I thought i'd be ok not to put sun cream on,
Wrong... I got burnt! which means I'm going to be wearing a t-shirt and be a little score for the next few days!! (I will learn!). I was only in the sun for about 30 minutes!.
Anyway, teamed up with a group of 12 people and started the paper work, and watched some training DVD's, it really was like being back at school... (of course I was sat at the front, might as well make it realistic!).
Then after we watched our DVD, we were set our homework... Yes- HOMEWORK.... (I'm travelling around the world, and have to sit doing homework!) It wasn't hard, it was reading a manual, completing the missing words, it was word for word so easy! It wasn't so bad, sitting around with a group of people, at a beach bar, driving beer, having dinner, and watching flame throwers, while doing the homework. (Hard Life.!).
It was pretty late once we had finished, as we were all busy chatting, but we had to be up for 8:30, so headed to bed! Dorms are ok, thank god they have air conditioning!!
(at this point my arms were on fire! Covered in after sun, I went to bed!!)
