Getting up this morning was hard work, the dinner from last night hadnt agreed with me, so i kept waking up during the night! Yes... I had the squits.! Lol. My iPhone just tried to change that to Squirts, but I guess it's the same thing! I had an Imodium for breakfast!
I walked down to the pier, we had to meet at 9. I was on a full day trip, so wouldnt be back until after sunset. I was an idiot that didn't charge my camera. So I didn't bother taking it, & totally forgot about my back up camera that I have in my wash bag.. Im a twat, I know. So anyway.. The day I bloody didn't bring my camera, I saw so much stuff you would believe! But I can promise on my life that it's true....
We set sail from Koh Phi Phi Don pier, and headed back to Maya bay, I know some of this is going to be the same of what I've already done... But it was so different. It was raining heavily and everyone was sat under the shelter on the boat. The water was still quite calm, and I just stared out at the horizon hoping that I wouldnt get sea sick again. We arrived at a lagoon at Phi Phi Ley, on the other side to Maya Bay.! This is where we swam, and jumped off the boat! It was amazing, this spanish girl said if I jump first she would follow me, as she didn't want to go first... They were filming on a video camera, so I agree as long as she would email me the footage. I jumped... Nothing, she didn't jump after me, and even worse the cameraman, had forgotten to press record.! I think I was had. I didn't mind, I ended jumping off the boat about 5 times, each time getting a massive mouth of salty water! I was just spitting all the way back to the boat!
There was a set of stairs leaving the water and going onto the island on the other side of the lagoon, this would take us to Maya Bay, it was only a 5 minute swim, made more difficult by the waves! Once on the island, it was a 5 minute walk to the perfect beach! It was like I was really in the movie, coming from the jungle, and seeing glimpses of the beach... As the cast did in the film.! But sadly it wasn't a diserted beach like the movie, instead there was about 1000 tourist, all taking pictures! Boats everywhere, looked like it had when I came here last time! But still, the water was warm, and clear so had a swim before heading back! The water in the lagoon has got a bit more rough, and most people were waiting for the guides to get them with the Kayaks... I was impatient and couldn't be bother to wait! So I swam!
We then left the lagoon, and headed around the front if maya bay. We weren't able to get close because of the size of the boat we were on! But we were on the beach minutes before anyway. Next stop was lunch, it was fried rice with chicken! It was tasty, and luckily for me quite bland.. The Imodium was doing its job, so I was ok.
Sailing now to the North islands, I sat at the front of the boat, and looked at the clouds that were building up over the mainland that I could see in the distance. As I looked, I could see what looked like a start of a twister, I thought I was seeing things, but continued to stare at it... Within a minute the twister had touched down, and was down joining the clouds to the water below, I went to grab my camera, and bloody remember I didn't have it... I pointed it out to a Norwegian couple, and they confirmed what it was, and that they had seen one yesterday!! Amazing.
We then arrived at Monkey beach, this really is the most perfect beach, about 10 people, plus our group, we kayaked over to the shaw. I sat on the kayak at the back of the boat, as our guides pushed me in, the noise dipping under the water! It really took me back to my scouting days at Tilgate.. I didn't forgotten what to do.. Everyone asking if I'd done it before, as I replied once or twice!! A German girl that I had been taking to, had swam to the beach, I offered her a lift back on the Kayak! Of course she said yes, so we went back to the boat! Then done some snorkelling, saw loads of fish, and corel. We left monkey beach, and sailed further north to Bamboo. This time I looked into the sky and saw the perfect rainbow, of course no camera, so no proof. But you could pick out each colour, even see where the rainbow touched the water... If there is gold at the bottom of a rainbow, I really think we could have got it...!
Arriving at Bamboo, we jumped back into the kayak.. This time when I was pushed off the back of the boat, I think the bloke really wanted it to go over! But we managed to keep it up! Paddling to the beach, a group of us went for a walk down to the end of the beach, it was so nice, lots of dead Corel on the beach! It kept digging into the bottom of your feet! Trust me, it hurts. We only had an hour on the island, and walked back to the kayaks that we had pulled up on the white sand... Then... As I was walking, I could see loads of flies, they were all buzzing around by where I was walking, as I looked up, there was a MASSIVE dead snake... Gross, I ran away from it like a little girl, and the people I was walking with stopped and looked for a second, I am sure one took a picture of it as well... It was horrible. I couldn't wait to get back to the boat! When we got back we told the guide, who said it might have been from the water or land... The next thing I saw, was he jumped into a kayak to take a look. Sick.
Our last stop before we watched the sunset was sharks reef. This is the place where I should see a shark! I snorkelled for about 40 minutes going around and around this reef, and then left the water. I could hear that people had seen a 4ft black tipped shark, and they asked me, and I told them I must have seen the same one....! I might have been telling a small white lie, I was the only one to go in the water that actually didn't see a shark, so I didn't want to look like a looser! Ha ha. So I said I had seen it, but in fact I hadn't.! Ha ha...!
The sunset on the boat was great, Until a party boat pulled in front of us blocking the view, loud music! Our captain then just put the engines on, and positioned in front of them! Now we had the perfect uninterrupted view.
As the sun disappeared, we sailed back to the pier... Up until now I hadn't felt very burnt or red... But now, I started to get that burning, feeling.... Oops, I had out sun cream on all day! I am sure it would be ok, and the after sun is back in my room, that would sort it. I got back, and looked in the mirror.! My face was bright red!!! Lol, but not sore. The air conditioning was amazing.
Had a cold shower, and changed and went out for dinner, had pizza, didn't stay out to long, as now my back felt like it was on fire!!! Put the telly on, and watched the box for a little while before crashing our, the swimming really does take it out of you!! Night peeps!
