Another early start, we loaded the mini vans, and started our journey down the Cameron Highlands. There were loads of windy roads, as we got lower, my ears started to pop! Even this early in the morning, there were some great views. The journey was about 4 hours long, and we had 1 stop on the way at a service station. They had a Dunkin Donuts! (The perfect breakfast!). You could tell when we were near KL, as the buildings were getting bigger and bigger, and you could start to see the skyscraper! We checked into our hotel that was located near china town, and over looked th May Bank building, it was a massive building, that we could use at a point of reference, if you get lost.
We walked for about 10 minutes going through china town, before arriving a the central market. Lunch was in another food court! It was ok, nothing special. Once lunch was done, I had a wonder around the shops. A group of us walked about 20 minutes away to the pavilion shopping centre. It was massive, full of designer shops, and even high street shops from the UK. I got a few things. But the walk there had turned me into a sweaty mess! This place blows Bluewater out of the water. However because I've been in Asia for so long, everything seem expensive to me, but I'm sure most of it will be similar to home prices. The air conditioning was really good! Had a look around some of the other shopping centres but nothing I wanted. I sat in the sun waiting for the others with an ice cream, and then was told to move on by a security guard, that looked like Morgan Freeman! It was so hot. I must have had the most sweaty back! But at least I'm working on my tan, although I'm getting vest marks now. We wondered back looking at the different bars.
We meet at reception at 7 for dinner. And walked all the way back to where we had been, which turned me into another sweaty mess. There were so many nice restaurants and bars. Before dinner, we walked to the bottom of the Pentonas "twin" towers. They were so impressive. It was our opportunity to take loads of cool pictures. It was finally time for dinner... Italian..? Asian..? Indian...? No. We had dinner in a food court, in a shopping centre. Mexican! It was alright, but we had just walked past a really nice looking Mexican restaurant. Oh well. It was pretty late by the time we had finished our dinner, and pudding! Chocolate cookie base, cheese cake! We headed to the tube, and got the train back to the closest station, that was still about a 10 minute walk away!
So far, I am really liking the city of KL, the architecture is so impressive! We are only here about 36 hours. So really looking forward to exploring tomorrow!
