Finally, the first time in about 2 weeks I have had a lay in past 10 o'clock. It was so good to catch up on sleep, this travelling lark, really does take it out of you. Today, me & the others were going to do the KL hop on hop off tour around the city. We were meeting at 11ish, at the bus stop as some of the girls were going to some cave temple. I have already seen that sort of thing so I gave it a miss. Althought, I really think I would have pissed my self laughing, when one of the monkeys robbed chewing gum from Tess's bag, and sat in a tree eating it. Anyway, walked around the central markey again, before boarding the bus.
It was about 90 mins in total, and it would go all around the city. It did feel like we were playing musical chairs, everywhere we went we couldn't really hear the commentary, so resulted in sitting outside to cook!! It was so hot. But at least outside there was a breeze. I didn't bother with sun cream! Only use it now when sitting on the beach, even then it's only factor 10. The plan was stay onboard for one complete rotation of the bus. There was photo opportunities at a grand palce, it was amazing set up on a hill over looking the city. When we were there we saw the change of the guards, all on horse back! I have the funniest picture, of the horse taking a crap!! I think you have to see it to believe it! It's amazing what a little zooming in can show you. Hopped back onto the bus.
We had made it about 3/4 of the way around, and all wanted food. There was a place on the map, that looked good, and served traditional Singapore/Asian food. However we got off the bus, and couldn't really see where this place was. Honestly we didn't really look, as it involved crossing a really busy dual carriage way. Instead, we saw a sign for a sea food place, located on the lake. Not 100% sure where or how far, we headed in that direction. After a 20 minute walk, we finally found this place. You should have seen it, deserted, not a soul in sight, except the staff that worked there. It wasn't long before we took a U turn - (That's U-Turn in both English, and American English!) and got the hell out of there. Walking back to where we had started.
At the same stop they we got off at was a large building that housed an art gallery. There was only 4 artists work, but it was really good, my highlight was a guy that painted and drew combat scenes. The way he caught the motion, and movement was amazing, loads of napkins were in display cabinets where he had sketched in cafes and restaurants. I really liked his work, I can't remember his name. Before we left there was just enough time to sit in a massage chair for a little bit, I think it inflicted more pain than pleasure. Got back onto the bus, thank god we didn't have to wait long, as the mosquitos had started to bite! (we didn't manage to find any decent food).
We went around the rest of the circuit that we hadn't seen, no commentary as we decided to sit out in the sun again. We got off at the pavilion again, as we knew where we were, and headed to Time Square K.L - Inside they had a theme park on the 5-7 floors. It was pretty quite and small, but it was inside a building. Plus it's a theme park that Az hasn't done!! Ha ha. The main roller coster with max speeds of 80 km per hour was a little crap, not sure it got passed 40 kmph! However the other rides I went on made up for it, the others were all static rides, that twisted and spun. For £7 that i paid, I can't complain. I then walked around the shops to see if I could find some bargains... We had all decided to get dressed up tonight and hit the town in K.L. I managed to find a pair of canvas shoes. As I couldn't really wear cameltoes on a night out.! I'd already managed to find a new checkered shirt! (I'm sure everyone back home will be like... another one..!) ha ha. I then walked back to the hotel to get showered and dressed up! It was a free night, so everyone did different things!
Everyone looked really dressed up! We managed to get in a minivan taxi and we were going up the K.L Tower, it was about 7 o'clock and the sun way starting to set, so we would get some great pictures at over 80 floors above the city! It was 250+ meters high. Incredible views of the city. G-Harp the fantastic photographer stoll Edelyn's SLR camera and started to take photos of everyone with the sun setting in the distance. You could also get a good view of the Twin towers, however one overlapped the other! We had hopped to go for a drink at the top! But they only had a restaurant... So after about an hour at the top, we all needed a lot of alcoholic drinks! We got in taxi's back to the pavilion, it was 9 of us from the G Adventure tour, and a guy called nick managed to tag along! It was a little strange- apparently he's the brother of an x factor finalist called Sophie... Can't remember a Sophie? He stuck around for most of the evening.
All really dying for a drink by now, the girls cracked out the bottles of wine. The guys had beer, although mine didn't last long, and my second drink was an apple mojito (it was so good!) and one of my 5 a day! It did have chunks of apple inside, which I fished out and ate! It was a tapas bar, and we ordered a selection of items and shared, it was so good! Well at least until i tried an olive. It was DIRT, really don't like them!! We finished up, and headed to another restaurant for dinner. A really modern looking place that sold Malaysian fusion food! I had fish and chip ha ha. My drink choice was beer! A bucket of beer! Everyone was fed and watered and it was time to hit the bars. On route to the main strip, I was messing about.. I jogged up to the girls that were walking ahead, and trood on an uneven paving slab, launching myself into the air.. I managed to keep the momentum going and turned it into an army roll when I hit the ground! It was like one fluid motion. Everyone looked a bit shocked as i got back to my feet. Checking I was ok, I'm sure if I hadn't been a little drunk it may have hurt. But I was more bothered about the the new shirt I was wearing. I am a little unstable on my feet after a drink!! Just wish someone had filmed it.
After my army roll, I really did need another drink, we found a lively sounding place. With really good music, and even better a pool table. Edelyn challenged me to a game! Off course I accepted. I sunk all my colours, and was on the black where I called the pocket where I wanted the black to go.. However that back fired- as I missed that pocket, and the black ball went into a different one. Meaning edelyn won.. (I let her win!) The drinks kept coming, and the pool table turned into a modelling Shoot! I have to admit some of the pictures looked really good.
Walked about 5 minutes around the corner to other bars! Had a drink, and then left to go back to the hotel, climbed into bed about 2:30am knowing we had an early start the next day. Some of the girls ended up stating out until 4! It was such a great night out.
