Got a bus to Pokhara from Kathmandu, which went through mountains and valleys along Nepal's centre. We didn't see too many bus crashes along the way, certainly none that looked fatal. Today was spent travelling to the World Heritage sites around Kathmandu. We travelled to Bhaktapur, where traffic is (supposedly) prohibited and you can wander around the medieval streets at your own pace enjoying the surroundings. In reality motorcycles don't count as traffic here, so you still have to watch your back! A lot quieter than Kathmandu, with fantastic views across the city. Trekked back to Lukla from Lobuche in 3 days (4 days ahead of schedule!). Our tickets back to Kathmandu were on the wrong date, but that didn't matter, someone told us where the airline manager lived.... Back in Kathmandu in time for breakfast! Altitude: 1300m / O2: normal!

Scarcely able to breathe up here at all. Crossed the moraine in burning sunshine and ran out of water! The dogs better be bloody grateful! Amazing views of Everest on the way.
