When we got back to Kathmandu we arranged to help out with some dog catching at KAT. The volunteers are split into teams who work in different zones across the Kathmandu valley. We went to the eastern outer suburbs of Kathmandu early in the morning and cruised for dogs! The team were looking for unneutered females and any obvious rescue cases. We caught a total of 7 females and one male who had bad mange and was taken to the isolation units for treatment. We saw many dogs already known to KAT (conspicuous by their red collar and ear notch) who were looking healthy and happy and in some cases have been adopted by locals.
The dogs were taken back to KAT to have a through check up by the volunteer vets to ensure that they are healthy before they are operated on.
It was great to see KAT's work in action. Once again, thanks to everyone for supporting this great cause.
See you all soon!
