After a fantastic start to the new year we enjoyed a lazy afternoon at the country cottage of Muriam's sister Marylena. It was a rustic little Spanish hasienda literally in the middle of their olive groves just outside the little town of El Pedroso. A few of Myriam's siblings were there and we sat in the sun sharing slow baked lamb, tortillas de Patata, crusty bread, olives, bacon cooked with walnuts, salad, chorizo cooked in wine, and the obligatory glass of red. For afterwards there was chunks of pina (pineapple) plus chocolates and Turron (a festive season log of chocolate with nuts or marzipan with nuts...delicious).
We then all walked up the road to a mirador (lookout) Of the surrounding countryside. The farms and town are at the foot of the mountains and there were olive trees and pigs as far as the eye could see.
Another lovely day.
