Woke up far to early, subsequently Laura's mood fiery and grumpy. I just want to sleep! Get train from Matsumoto to Nakaysuga. Miss stop but finally arrive in Nakaysuga but train journey beautiful with rivers like montenegro and mountains like the Alps. Bus Magome- first samurai town on the nakasenho route (one of two roads connecting edo and Kyoto back in the day). Views amazing up mountain, town cute. Start trek, luckily no bears encountered. Tools maybe 2 hour...

Wake up super walt to get train to Matsumoto. Leave at 8 and are here for 1pm, head to castle- oldest castle in. Got a free tour from tadayama a retired engineer. Castle was awesome. Not used as home but battle place, store room and landmark. Met fake ninja and samurai. Ask guide too many questions! Wander downtown (tiny) with amazing mountains all around and sunshine +++. Ate at cafe- so much junk food today :( then walked home to sketchy hostel.
