So I've learnt not to judge a book by its cover, as Rome was quite beautiful and had so many amazing sites to see!
We woke early to get the metro into Rome (public transport went on strike at 8.30 :( ). Once in Rome we went to the Vatican city and visited the museum and Sistine chapel (the roof, was amazing). After this we went to st.peters which is so big and beautiful.
After the Vatican city we returned to Italy and bought some pizza by weight which was amazing! So much better than pizza in Australia. After this we walked to visit the pantheon, via the gelato shop for some gelato and a corona ( a great way to cool down on a hot day).
After the pantheon we went and saw the Trevi fountain and threw some coins in! Then we headed to the colosseum and went inside for a look around. It just blew my mind that they could build something do amazing so long ago and it's still standing there today!
After the colosseum we went to the Irish pub for a drink and some food, before quickly hitting some shops for shopping of course. After shopping, we went back to the pub before heading out to the Spanish steps. The Spanish steps were beautiful and full of people. It was really lovely to see them at night too :)
After seeing the Spanish steps we once again returned to the pub for some more drinks and a bit of a dance before finally calling it a night.
So Rome was not built in a day and under all dirty facade was a beautiful city that I enjoyed :)
Ciao and I'll see you in florence!
