Venice, Venice, Venice :)
If anyone doesn't know, Venice is a little island of only pedestrianized streets and is only accessible by boat. So we dropped the coach off, got on a boat and went to visit Venice :)
So Venice is a beautiful city (wow I say beautiful a lot but really everything in Europe is beautiful). We first began with a walking tour with out little French guide. After walking around and learning some things we went to a glass blowing display and a lace display. The glass blowing was extraordinary, the years it would take to learn the skill and the hours and hours that you would need to practice, WOW, I respect the glass blowers so much. Along the same lines, the lace makers spend so much time on just one piece, but when they finish it is spectacular! It was all so pretty so I bought a garter (planning for my future :p ).
So free time in Venice consisted of lots and lots of walking, a heap of gelato and some shopping of course :) Venice is also quite famous for carnivale and the masks, so I bought a mask :) I just hope it doesn't break before I get home!
I also managed to find some time to go up the campanile (I hope that's how you spell it, my Italian is quite bad). It was such a gorgeous view of Venice :) it made me see how big Venice actually is! (I thought it was tiny, but not really).
After shopping it was time to sip some wine (some peach cocktail wine thing, I will find out the name) and sit on a gondola. The gondola ride was such a cultural and different thing to do and it was quite relaxing. I do suggest you do it once in your life :)
After the gondola ride, we went to dinner and had some pasta, not some pasta, but lots of pasta. We had risotto (my favorite food), some spaghetti thing, gnocchi and pesto spiral pasta :) yum, yum, yum. For dessert we had lemon sorbet (where is Chris when you need him?). Also during dinner we had some Italian local artists playing some songs and Steve (our bus driver) bought all the girls a rose :) (although it died by the time I got it back to the hotel).
So after a massive day in Venice, bring on outlet shopping and Rome tomorrow :)
P.s. my bag is full so I can't shop as much anymore :(
I also miss you guys heaps :) hope everything is well and I'll see you soon :)
Xoxo
P.p.s. toilets aren't free in Europe, 1.50 euro later in Venice (ouch!).
