Another early start today but it's for a good reason, para gliding. I had a small amount of toast and the we walked a couple of km to the meeting point where we met Diego. We then signed the weaver and jumped in the 4WD with Miguel, their dog and we picked up he driver.
We drove about an hour out of town and up the mountain. The scenery on the drive is amazing, with a huge amount of snow from the night before. Once up the top it was time to get the harness on and get clipped in. My instructor was Miguel and soon enough he was instructing me to run. Holy s***! I started running and keep running until we were up in the air and it was time for me to pull out the seat. Then we floated around the mountains, with an amazing view back to La Paz city. I think it was about 20 mins up in the air. As we were coming into land I was instructed to have my legs in the air and walk when instructed. We came down with a bit too much speed so when I was told to walk, both of our momentum pushed us forward and I face planted. So much fun :) I then watched tom land on his ass on the path not the dirt... oops!
After this we stopped on the way back to have some Bolivian soup. I had the peanut and vegetable soup - yummy!
We got dropped off in the nicer part of La Paz and decided to head up on the cable car. In La Paz due to being a valley surrounded by hills and having small streets, they built the cable car as a public transport system. We took the yellow line up to the top, took some photos and then slowly walked the couple of km back to the hotel.
We then went to a cafe for lunch, which had amazing coffee. I had a coffee, a beer and a stir fry with chicken, nuts and banana - very yummy! After this I grabbed a few things from the shop and we hung out at the hotel for a few hours.
At 7.30 we had the meeting with our group where we met the tour guide and the group. We discussed some general information and discussed the next days plan. After this we walked across the road and grabbed a small pizza each for dinner and a dessert. I had the local dessert - a cookie with caramel in the middle.
