The Paths Less Travelled
When I arrived at the village of Við Garð the weather was looking pretty grim. Rain and fog/clouds. But, I checked the weather earlier and it forecast morning rain, afternoon sun and later rain. So, there I go. I met a French couple from Lyon who decided the weather was too tough to go. However, after I geared up they decided to also try it and followed me up. The picture is from the first plateau about 3/4 of the way up.
The trail up was straight and steep. Over 2,000 feet in the first mile in the rain, wind and clouds.
