Franki here (so apologies if I am not as funny as Mr Blog man himself!!)
We arrived in Noosa on Monday 22nd February 2010 and had a free pickup to our hostel, really nice town, split into three parts, Noosa, Noosa Heads and Noosa Junction so bit of a walk from our hostel but they offer free bus shuttle so all good! Not a good start arriving at our hostel to be practically accused of making up a discount voucher we had previously been given by a travel company in Brisbane but luckily all sorted in the end! Had our own private room with TV, shared kitchen and wet room style bathroom, all clean and tidy so impressed!
We walked to Sunshine Beach, only 5 minutes from our hostel, really nice beach shame we didn't have more time in Noosa but decided to do the recommended 2 hour coastal walk from the beach to the town then the bus brings you back up! Headed off and the first part was quite intertesting in flip flops!! More like a trek than a walk but amazing views, minus ther nudist beach you had to walk across in the middle of the walk! Not much fun for Jimmy as all entirely naked old men! Personal fave for me was when three guys walking across the beach towards us, one in the middle wearing shorts and the two either side completely starkers!! a naked sandwich!!We were also supposed to see Koalas in the wild on the walk but no joy for us!
Nice to have our own TV in our room so even managed to watch some Desperate Housewives and Winter Olympics although Jimmy would like to add he didn't think much to the reception on the TV and it ruined his viewing!!
Day 2 here, highlight so far - AUSTRALIA ZOO!! Phoned the Zoo previously to book the free pick up so got picked up by the giant yellow coach from Noosa, snazzy machine with plush seats and air con! Even played DVD's on the way there and back of Stevie's life and achievements with him, his family and friends, a real legend! The Zoo itself was amazing (and we have been to a fair amount of zoos!) Jimmy got to feed the elephants, he fed Sian the elephant a giant piece of melon, we got to pet kangaroos in their large open pen and even pat a koala! We also went to the world famous Crocoseum where Stevie used to do all the croc shows :(, can imagine it would have been something eslse with Stevie himself :( but still pretty good! They have a family memorial in the zoo and also lots of the tributes that came in after his death, he was a well respected guy all over the world! Overall well worth the $!!
Last day at Noosa we had a few hours on Sunshine beach before our next Greyhound to Rainbow Beach the gateway to Fraser Island!
