This weekend all 16 of us went into Tha Ton to stay at Vicky and Izzy's house! On Friday night we ventured out of the house to another resort for a thai meal then we moved on to the Bamboo bar once again and met some other travelers. Teaching has been fairly relaxed for the last couple of days... On Tuesday we taught one lesson in the morning to the oldest group who got through a considerable amount!! In the afternoon we were taken to a meeting at Bankai school where 8 of the local schools joined to discuss up and coming events.... i.e. scout camp and the 4 day sports day next week!! we arrived at our school on fri morning and they had made such an effort with our accommodation, it was really moving! They bought us blankets, mirrors and built us a tap! We spent friday and saturday moving in, went for a nice long walk and played volleyball with the children! For the past few days we have been with our group of AV's at the resort in Tha Ton. We met them at the airport and got to know everybody whist we waited for our flight. During the week in Tha Ton we had Thai lessons, Cooking lessons, and most importantly teaching practice! We arrived in Bangkok today after a quite eventful meeting at the airport, where susie had to walk about 2 miles just to make the flight!! but we arrived safely, to meet Mr Dong, who was really nice and took us to our hotel, the Drop Inn. In the evening, we hit the night markets and have already purchased some thai trousers to teach in. We then had a very traditional bacon sandwich for supper!
