Hello!
Sorry I havnt updated this again till now, been a very busy girl. Oh and btw, i am trying to put on photos, but my uncles computer is v...e...r...y slow, so it wont upload them, but i am going to keep trying! ive got lots to share - been a bit snap happy!!
Well on thursday i had a pretty relaxed day but did have a bit of a scary experience...i drove a 4Litre, 4 wheel drive automatic Jeep! definately different from the little peugeot im used to. Took a wile to figure out how to drive, and then on the way home nearly drove into my uncles garden wall, haha think that put the wind up him! Was a very comic moment, for me anyway haha!
Friday was my first tme in the actual city of Melbourne! Pretty exciting. We met up with one of David (my uncles) friends Chihiro for lunch at a posh place called the RACV Club, very swish, was very nice. Then in the afternoon David and I explored the city a bit, and took a tourist tram around the city, before heading for the CASINO!!! Defo an experience in itself! We won $40 on the Roulette after betting $50, then blew it all, and more, on the Poker machines....glad to say it wasnt my money haha! Think my uncle is leading me astray! HAHA.
On Saturday we went and got Chihiro then set off for Chadstone shopping centre...she was taking me shopping for the day!! Never been to a shopping centre so big, it was awesome. Clothes and things are so much cheaper over here, so for the first time in ages actually bought some new clothes woo. Had my 1st taste of japanese food too, was quite interesting and ate the whole lot with chopsticks - now thats what i call skill lol!
Yesterday we went back into the city as it was St Kilda festival and Chinese New Year. The weather turned out to be a lot nicer than we thought, so now i look like a tomato and feel a bit sore! But anyway we had a great time and walked along the bayside (basically the beach but they keep refering to it as 'the bay' here so im trying to blend in!) And was pleased to note that there are lots of good looking boys in Melbourne :) We then headed off to china town for the Chinese new year celebrations and saw chinese lions and dragons dancing in the streets with loads of firecrackers going off.Very loud, but good fun. Then went out to a Japanese restaurant with Chihiro (shes japanese) and her husband for dinner. Definately didnt like the sushi or the soup, but the rest was good.
When we got home, i was headed off to bed when i had my 1st encounter with a huntsman spider!!! They are absolutely huge!!!!!!! I screamed and ran! And, stupidly, you get bad luck if you kill them, so David took it outside....im hoping it isnt going to come in again any time soon! Defo dont want to see one of them again!
Today is nice and hot, but im very burnt, so trying to keep out of the sun a bit. Going into the city again this week, and need to book my trip to Ayres Rock and the Great Barrier Reef...hopefully it wont be too expensive!
See you all soon xxxxx
