Having a class time on the Great Ocean Road! 20 of us, 3 Lads and 18 Girls. Kate the coach driver is absolutely tapped and really shouldn't be aloud near a motor vehicle of any descriptions! Set off and did a lot of driving on the first day with a few trips to little towns along the way. We had a beer stop and as I had heard that it was boozy nights in hostel I proceded to buy 48 cans of beer, not realising that all the girls were just buying 1 or 2 bottles. Ah well they'll come in handy at some point. Stayed in a nice chalet type hostel deep in the Grampians which was really nice, but bloody cold.
We were up at the crack of dawn on Wednesday going for a walk up to the Pinnacle. It was stunning - quite worth the hour trek it took us to get there but had some amazing views at sunrise. Again more driving and little stops to walk around some bays but until we got the twelve apostles. Now I've heard a few stories about the twelve apostles and thought what is so amazing about a few rocks in the sea? But we arrived just as the sun was setting and it was undescribible really. Check out my photos. I could live there forever.
I came up with a great idea - lets go in the sea. I convinced a few more people and we decided when we got to the beach hut we were just gonna run in the freezing cold sea and fully submerge yourself. And it was cold. But it was a good laugh and we had 4 people in the shower and then scolded ourselves in the bath. Happy days!
Saw some Koalas and Roo's on the road the next day but I had terrible hangover/travel sickness and so going round the many bends on the Gt Ocean Road was painful. Topped the trip off with a massive piss up the the hostel and cemented some great memories of it. Everyone has to do it once in their lifetime.
