Not much in the way of tourism today as Des had a migraine for most of the day - just a miserable time for her.
We did manage to get out to the Central Railway Station and got our Tickets on a Shatabdi Express to Mysore for the 13th. A seven hour trip in AC (Air-con) Coach Chair class for a total of $30.00.
Tickets had already sold out but Indian Railways puts aside a number of seats for Foreigners - a Foreign Quota it's called. This involved tracking down the Chief Station Superintendant in his Office and asking for his blessing. Actually, he was a nice Bloke - as are most people here in Chennai.
The auto Rickshaw rides through through heavy traffic have to be experienced to be believed - they are a real buzz and so far we haven't seen any accidents. Lots of cars, buses, scooters and Enfields all darting in and out taking advantage of any little gap in the traffic. It should be absolute carnage but somehow it all works.
Anyway, tomorrow we plan to visit the Ramakrishna Mutt Temple not far from here - it's open to followers of any faith for meditation purposes so should be interesting.
Bye.
