Hello again. As threatened, photo's of the local tucker are attached in the "Photo's" area. It is all very nice and probably good for you too - not sure about the water though. I also took the opportunity to get a haircut and, as it turned out, a beard trim today. As they say (or will say) - a $1 haircut for a $1 head. Well Folks, we are pretty much at the end of our stay in India and as a result of being a bit worn out, a bit unwell and a bit out of money we have decided to not make the 4 to 5 hour round trip south to Mamallpuram or Pondicherry. As soon as we get home we'll probably regret this decision but, hey, we've covered a lot of ground over the last 6 weeks so we'll have to live with it. A quiet day today for two reasons - we have seen most of what the Lonely Planet thinks is notable already and both of us are not feeling 100%. Desley's back is playing up, probably courtesy of sitting bolt upright in the sleeper carriages of the last two long train trips and I have a ear-ache that is giving me the stirks. We did go out foraging for food and found another diesel Enfield - see the photo blog if you are interested. See you later.

A quick note to let you knw we are off by train this afternoon from Trichy, back to Chennai. We have arranged the same Hotel which has WiFi (kind of) in each room. Whilst were are there we may do a day trip to Mallapuram, two hours south - it depends a bit as we are running out of money. No alcohol available in Chennai as far as we can tell so that should save many rupees! Should arrive in Chennai at 9.15pm tonight. Yesterday we happened upon a Royal Enfield ...
