We had a terrific day today with a boat trip to Elephanta Island, located 9 klm out into Mumbai Harbour. There are a number of temples cut into the rock of the Island. These take the form of caves with many pillars, halls and shrines dedicated to Shiva. They are thought to have been constructed between 450 and 750 AD. Hi everyone. Well, we made it do Mumbai obviously. Long flights and a bit uncomfortable but that's what you get with the cheap seats. We are staying in the Fort district of Mumbai about a 10 minute walk from the main Post Office and the Victoria Terminus (the main railway station here that sees about 1 million people through it each day).
