Well I can hardly believe that this is the last official day of my Canadian adventure and what an amazing trip it has been! I never imagined just under 2 weeks ago that I would have such a fabulous time and meet so many fantastic people.
So back to today, we got up and breakfasted and then I packed my bag and even had a little bit of free time to read my book before we packed up the van and said our goodbyes to Vancouver Island and caught the ferry across to Vancouver. We were hopeful that on the journey across to Vancouver we might see some orcas and they didn't disappoint as in the distance we could see a small pod of or as making their way through the water - woohoo!!
After we had seen the orcas we decided we would go inside and grab a quick snack for the rest of the journey. So we went inside and continued the journey on the lower deck still hopeful we might see something. No more orcas or otters but we did see some jellyfish!
When we arrived in Vancouver we drove around the town and saw Gastown and Stanley Park. We then checked into our hotel (well we didn't as our room wasn't ready so we hijacked Leah's and Dave's room) and then went and grabbed some lunch and explored Vancouver a little more. Vancouver wasn't at all as I imagined. I thought it would be more like Victoria and didn't really appreciate the amount of homeless people. So we made our way to Gastown and then Canada Place stopping off on the way to look at the different sights and also to do a spot of shopping.
We then made our way back to the hotel and I tried to do my washing but the coin laundry was being upgraded so I decided to do my washing in the bath which was an experience in itself as I thought I was pulling out the plug but instead I actually turned the shower on so I got a little bit wet to say the least.
So after my washing experience we got ready to go out and meet up with everyone for one last meal which was lovely. After dinner we went for s final drink before our final breakfast in the morning.
