We haven't eaten very well on this gorgeous island. The restaurants are all about €10 a plate of food which is way out of budget and the supermarkets/ tiny shops have absolutely nothing in them. Honestly nothing.
Arrived Monday
Lunch. Wish I had brought my phone as we shared a portion of cerviche prawns and fries.
The lack of ingredients is so sad as the 8€ prawns were just drowning in a store bought hot sauce and the 4€ portion of fries was about 20 chips. We are going to be v skinny here.
Decided that we can't eat in even the tiniest beach hut.
Dinner was a shared Hotdog, Hamburger and fries. From tiny 2 hob joint /hole in wall beside shops.
The hotdog had those crisps in it like Salento. Not bad at all.
Tuesday:
Porridge With banana. Ed said it was divine. We ate it outside. What a way to start the day :)
Lunch. Popcorn. Yum.
Dinner. Choripapas with billyfrancis. Billy Francis is the local popstar we became friends as we stopped to look at a street game. Group of guys were playing Siglo. Its a luck only game of little disks with numbers. Sort of like dice.
Tried to get a fair table which is a cool name for when ladies cook food and serve on the porch. Alas we were too late so ate in a fast food joint. It's a bit crazy here. There is literally no cheap
Food that is good for you. Most people are fat as a result.
Chorripapas is chopped up chicken sausage mixed with chips and lettuce covered in loads of mayonnaise and ketchup. Oh so healthy. Didn't take my phone so didn't get a snap. I'd say a photo would make you want to retch lol. But we hadn't eaten much since 9 am so happily scoffed it.
Wednesday:
Breakfast: Porridge with banana.
Lunch: Popcorn. Chicken soup.
Romantic pasta dinner
I have a photo somewhere.
Peppers onion carrot sauce.
Thursday:
Porridge no banana left!
Same pasta dinner
Friday. We got the Boat to Providencia so no breakfast. Safer for everyone.
