La Taberna This is the best restaurant in Sucre Starter main dessert wine water cognac all for under 30. Amazing value. This starter was beef skewers. Cooked medium rare. Melt in your mouth meat. Buttery mushrooms and slow oregano roast tomatoes. The sauce was a simple meat jus. All perfectly seasoned.

La Taberna Chefs salad This was really amusing dish. It had all the trimmings and trappings of being something amazing but Salads are always an afterthought in South America. It is covered in large rose petals which have a honey glaze dripped over them. Rose petals sounds great but the reality is that they are bitter and soggy. Also had packet ham but on the plus side there was loads of iceberg lettuce which I love, tomatoes, pineapple and oranges.

La Taberna This is the dish that is raved about and I can see why. It's perfectly cooked medium rare high grade beef with a tomato ragu whiskey sauce ! It's a rather sweet dish. Not something you'd eat every day but it's so enjoyable to have sweet steak every so often.
