Arrived from Florencee aafter a train journey of 4 hours, a little longer than expected, but we did take the local train and not the Eurostaaar which is much quicker. This morning we decided to rise early and get a Gondola ride near the Hotel Bauer, one of the ugliest hotels in Venice. We were so early we beat the gondoliers! We had fun on Monday going up and down the Grand Canal seeing everything. Its so facinating having a whole city without cars and vans- its all done by boat, laundry, groceries to hotels and even trash!! Well arrived safely to HEAT!! and we found our appartment, after getting the keys from a darling little Italian man in the Hotel next door. YOu have to climb all these stairs 78 in all to get to reception, we were really knackered!! We got in to the appartment everything is decorated in red and Gold!!
