Came back in to Rome then went to airport . Today ids the day martin arrives. We decided to get up and go to Piazza de Popoli. We were not disappointed, it has a huge granite obelisk in the centre of the square and two cuppolas- or church roofs either side. Stunning. Walked to the Vatican up a street with more dog poop than pavers! Got to the top of the road and in front of us was the VAtican museums- great we thought the line doesnt look tooo bad- think again. Got up later and decided to go for breakfast- that was funny. The Hotel breakfast room is a converted bedroom its tiny it only seats 6 at a time. We got a quick bite and headed out on the Metro system to the Collesseo- the Colisseum, a fantasstic sight as you come out from the station. Arrived from Florencee aafter a train journey of 4 hours, a little longer than expected, but we did take the local train and not the Eurostaaar which is much quicker.
