We arrived in Surfers Paradise late at night seeing as we had driven down straight from the Big Brother Eviction Show. The office at the only campsite we found was already closed and there was a barrier so there was no way of smuggling in. Instead we had to park by the road. It seemed an ok spot as there were toilets nearby and another campervan already doing it. All 3 of us got into the back of the van and were preparing to sleep when I suddenly spotted an eye staring in through our bin liner curtains! I screamed. There was a loud knocking and we opened the door to a policeman and his barking dog. It was scary. However he was very understanding and said we could stay there but had to be away before sunrise.

As promised we left our spot before sunrise and watched the sun rising from a different spot. When it was a decent hour of the day we drove into the campsite. We spent a couple of days in Surfers Paradise. We didn't do much. We spent part of a day on the beach where me and Andy played about with the frisby and ball. We had a couple of intense games of putt putt, Egyptian style! It was glow in the dark too. Andy won both games which he hasn't let us forget!

We left Sufers and carried on South. We stopped at Point Danger to see the beautiful views up the coast. We passed into New South Wales. I was disapointed there was no sign! Our next stop was Byron Bay. I liked Byron Bay. It was very quaint and had its fair share of hippies. There were some really nice shops and had a lovely beach. On our first night there me and Andy saw a beautiful sunset over the bay while a band played some music. The next couple of days we did some sunbathing. I would have done more if I knew this was to be the last place we were able to! We went out one night to a bar called Cheeky Monkeys. We ran into another friend who we met in Asia. Unfortunately Lauren's phone went missing that night.

After a few relaxing days in Byron we drove down to Coffs Harbour. We didn't do much there. There was nice market and we took a walk along the pier to watch people fishing. We then went on to Port MacQuarie. There was nothing there at all so we went bowling. The next day we drove to Newcastle. We tool a walk along Nobbies Point and saw pretty much nothing but some big waves. We then took a walk along the main street and saw lots of shops but absolutely no people. The last few nights camping had been in pretty quiet places but luckily we had tvs, our dvds and each others stimulating conversation to keep us amused. It was definitely getting colder now. I had to revert to trousers and jumpers a lot of the time. Surprisingly it wasn't too cold in the tent. However one night it was so stormy it almost blew away. There was thunder and lightning and it was really scary.

On the last drive to Sydney we stopped at Palm Bay where the beach scenes from Home and Away are filmed. It was really beautiful but we saw no filming or cast members. I was exited about arriving in Sydney as it was somewhere a lot busier than where we'd been the last few days. We were staying in a campsite just outside the city. It was a lovely big national park and there were always lots of possoms and wildlife running around. We were very secluded too so it was a little scary.

We spent the first few days in Sydney trying to sell our van. We put up posters in all the hostels and waited for the all important call. Luckily it didn't take too long. A Dutch couple wanted to see it, and they decided to take it. We had to bargain a bit with the price but in the end we made more than what we bought it for so I was really happy. I was sad to see our van go but relieved I was now able to spend my last few days with Andy in Sydney worry free. While we were going about selling the van Andy met up with some friends to keep himself occupied.

We have seen quite a few sights in Sydney. Before we sold the van we drove up to the Blue Mountains. It was beautiful up there and we got to see the Three Sisters. We also saw the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. We took a ferry out to Manly. It was lovely over there and we really enjoyed the views from the ferry both going out during the day, then coming back at night and seeing Sydney all lit up. We went out to Bondi and did a walk from Bondi Beach to Bronte Beach. Bondi Beach was nice but nowhere near as big as I perceived it to be from tv.

We also met up with Grace and Phil who have been living out here for the last while. It was great to see them both and catch up. On one of Andy's last nights we all went out for dinner and drinks and Andy's friend Mick came too and a girl from our dorm. The following day Andy had once again booked us into the Hilton. I'm a lucky girl. We were staying on the 32nd floor!! I couldn't believe it. We could see right accross Sydney from up there. We made use of the hotels facilities, the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna then spent the rest of the afternoon completely chilling out. We bought a whole load of sweets, crisps and junk food and watched dvds and tv. I loved it. Its felt so long since I have done nothing but that. The next morning was sad because Andy was leaving. He packed up his things and after our last lunch together we took the train out to the airport. I was very sad to see him go. Its been great having him here and I'll miss him a lot.

The following day Lauren flew up to Noosa for her cousin's birthday. I'm now staying with Grace and Phil in their flat. They have been busy working so I've tried to get out to see some of the sights. I've taken a walk around Darling Harbour, looked round the shops and today went to the aquarium. The aquarium was great. It had see through tunnels you can walk through and see all the seals in one then the sharks in another. I loved it. I'm going to be in Sydney till Monday then fly to Melbourne where I'll meet back up with Lauren. We are only going to be in Melbourne for four days then we're moving onto New Zealand.
