Nice camp backing onto Elsey Creek. Superb dinner of barramundi with entertainment by a local lass with a great voice singing all the old favourites. Not Steve's cup of tea but was mine certainly mine!

Only 120km today to reach the campground of the Southern Lost City in Limmen NP. We did the 2.5km walk up and around the sandstone formations. Next morning we moved onto Butterfly Springs campground where I stayed the night and Steve carried onto a supposed fishing spot! Before setting off, Steve noticed water leaking from the front of my car. Watched the temp gauge like a hawk but everything seems ok - think it was condensation from the AC unit. With a further 200 km of corrugations handled ok I think the car is fine - so will stop obsessing about it! CC is a caravan park, pub and servo - and that's it! Good food and a great atmosphere made it a good stopover on way to Limmen NP.

Stayed last night at Hell's Gate after an easy drive on sealed road. The days are paint stripping hot from say 11am to 4pm, otherwise the temps are superb! Tonight we are at Robinson River where we found a camp site with plenty of shade and water.

We left Boodjamulla and returned to Gregory Downs and camped in the same spot we had earlier. Managed to avoid all cows etc and car feels no different even tho the bonnet is now tied down with wire! Visited pub to have their Sunday roast. Unfortunately the cook had recently driven into a nearby creek and drowned their pet dog. Very sad but it also meant that our roast dinner took 3 hours to arrive amid much confusion and bloody-mindedness. Still it tasted good. ...
