Last 2 days in Longreach - home of QANTAS and the Stockman's Hall of Fame. Weather definitely on the improve - will be shorts and thongs from here on! Spent today at the SHOF and had an excellent time. Main sections included Aborigines, Flying Doctor, Communications, Droving and Stockmen. I thought the Aboriginal connection was understated but the other sections were well done. Heading to Winton tomorrow in search of the 'Dinosaur Trail'.

Easy day driving to Tambo with stops at Charleville and Augathella. Camped at another great spot on the Barcoo River. Much warmer day, even able to get the thongs out.

Excellent free-camp with facilities. Steve did a fry-up for dinner - I helped him out by eating half his sausages etc. Another freezing night and morning - at least the days are ok. Noticing some very average golf efforts from the boys at home!

So cold overnight with min temp -2c, but the swag coped beautifully. It's great to be able to setup on grass rather than mud. Dinner comprised a 1kg bag of cooked prawns and a bottle of Thousand Island sauce - I cooked!

All dirt roads out of White Cliffs remain closed so we backtracked to Wilcannia and then on to Cobar. It is bloody cold right now, so we were in bed (but not together) by 8pm. Will test out my -11 deg C rated sleeping bag (again, not Steve). Tomorrows target is Bourke but may press on if the mood takes us.
