Fern and Mike on Tour
Whitsundays & Airlie Beach (again!)
Where to start!! It was amazing!!
We met at the pier round 8am and left shortly after. There were 24 of us on the boat, mainly Germans an girls!! Poor mike only had 3 other boys on the boat! The boat was really nice, we all had our own little bed. Well me an mike shared one which was actually really big considering the shape.
We sailed till 12 an then stopped at our first snorkel site at Blue Pearl Bay the same place Justin Timberlake went snorkelling 5 weeks earlier. After lunch we got in to go kayaking round the bay. As per, mike an I thought it was the Olympics and got a bit competitive. We then got to go snorkelling. It was beautiful! Hundreds of fish an loads we hadn't seen before. After about an hour of snorkelling we got the tender boat back and there was one girl who couldn't get in an literally had to be dragged into the boat it was hilarious!!
The next stop was another snorkelling site 1hr away. We got to see turtles!! Marlin (The Deck Hand) dropped us off at 1foot Island for a bit more snorkelling. We saw loads of huge turtles.
Back to the boat all showered we started having a few drinks whilst watching the sunset. We had made friends with two lovely girls from Essex called Amy an Tash and we had such a Ball with them the two days. That night we had a few drinks and watched the stars. Such s beautiful sight when there are no clouds or lights to ruin it. There was a girl singing Disney songs for ages so I was made up! She was dancing round the boat an the next minute she slipped over, we literally couldn't contain ourselves!! We were speaking to some German girls who were trying to teach us to speak German, they were so lovely.
The next morning we were up at 5:30 when the boat started moving again towards Whitehaven beach. The tender dropped us all off
on Whitehaven an we walked to the lookout. I can't even begin to describe how amazing it was. The whole of the beach was covered in white silica sand an crystal clear waters! The sand its self is 99.9% silica an doesn't get hot. You can clean your jewellery an exfoliate your body with it its that good! We couldn't wait to get down to get on it. The sand was so soft an fine you would think it was man made. When you walked on some of it was like walking on snow! We went for a dip an got to see the sing rays floating around. We got to stay here for around 3 hours relaxing on the beach. We then headed back into the harbour which took us 4 hours so we had a bit of a nap on deck an sunbathed.
The staff on the boat were lovely! God there was so much food! We had lunch, sunset snack, dinner, breakfast, mid day snack, lunch again and then afternoon snacks!! It was fab since we have lived off noodles an pasta!!
That night we all went out for dinner an drinks with eveyone from the boat. Disney girl got up an sang hakuna Matatta on karaoke!
Today an yesterday we went spent at the lagoon an chilling out. Still ruined from the trip! One of the evenings we went to meet Tash, Amy an Caroline for dinner an drinks. It was amazing! I had a sweet potato and pumpkin salad which was just to die for!
We are leaving for the outback tonight! Bus picks us up in about an hour. I'll update again when we are back in the real world!! Its my mums birthday today so Happy birthday mum!! Sorry we can't celebrate with you!!
Love you all
