Our last day of the W Trek we awoke feeling a little under the weather from El Gato the night before. We had optimistically agreed with a few others to meet at 7am and go and watch the sunrise at the glacier lookout about 10 minutes from the refuge, but we didn't make it. We awoke on day 3 to a similar display of colour with the sun rise, and a nice big rainbow arcing around the mountain top. It was a sign of another good day ahead. What a start to the day. Just as we left the refugio to get breakfast (which was served in the Refugio Torre Central 100m away) the sun had poked its head up over the horizon and cast an incredible pink glow over Monte Almirante Nieto and the Torres del Paine.
